Church, the way it used to be

    Pastor Alexander was saved in January of 1994 on a construction site in Freeport, Texas at the age of 22.  He immediately started attending the Wild Peach Baptist Church of Brazoria, Texas where Brother Jack Stanley was Pastor.  An unquenchable desire to know more about the One who saved him from the penalty of his sin began to grow.  He fell in love with the Bible, serving with church family, and following the Lord Jesus daily.  In June of 1994, he surrendered to preach.

    Brother Stanley trained him both in the classroom and on the practical work of the ministry.  Formal training began soon after Pastor Alexander's call to preach.  He started taking evening classes at Bayou Drive Baptist Church in Alvin, Texas, where a satellite school of Trinity Valley Baptist College was meeting.  He earned his Associate Degree in Pastoral Ministries.  Later, Brother Kevin earned his Bachelor's Degree in Pastoral Theology at Blessed Hope Baptist College in Benton, AR.  

​    Pastor and Mrs. Alexander have been married for 32 years.  Seanda has faithfully served by his side all these years and has been a wonderful example of God’s amazing grace.  The Lord has blessed them with three children, who are also serving the Lord. Ashley is a faithful member and children's Sunday School Teacher here at ODBC. Tim is married to Hannah and they have four children: Kole, Kade, Kacilyn and Kalli. He attended Heartland Baptist Bible College where he earned his Master's degree in Ministry.  He is currently serving as Assistant Pastor at Berean Baptist Church in Springfield, Missouri.  Abigail is married to Jared Waasdorp.  Abigail  and Jared serve faithfully here at ODBC.  Jared is our Children's Minister as well as our Song Leader.  Abigail plays the piano and helps with the Children's Ministry.  All profess Christ as their Savior and continue to seek the Lord for his perfect will.
